People Are So Terrified Of Calling Anyone Prejudiced

This is what happens when you live in a neoliberal society in which bring up any kind of prejudice, let alone naming prejudice within a system or an individual, comes to somehow be considered worse than the existence of prejudice itself. You get tweets like this:

Employers aren't sexist, they just think women are worse than men at things.

It gets better/worse when you click through to the article. It's all about a paper which has a title even more Britney-face inducing than Quartz's tweet about it.

Employers favor men not because they are prejudiced against women, but because they have the perception that men perform better on average at certain tasks, according to the forthcoming research paper “Is Gender Discrimination About Gender?”

ARE WORDS WORDS???? DO THINGS MEAN THE THINGS THAT THEY MEAN????????

For the love of all that is fuck, just say it. It's sexism. Sexism exists. Employers are sexist. People are sexist. We all grew up in a sexist society and now we're all sexist, even the women, we internalize it, holy shit I promise no one will die if you just say the word SEXISM.
