I was deep in my insistence of covering concentration camps and only concentration camps when this news broke, and also I had to write about it for work and then never wanted to think about it again, even when I saw other feminists being like "hahaha no one is even bothering to cover this, no one cares that the president is a serial rapist holy shit end me."
It's just so hard. Honestly, I get it. I get why people didn't want to talk about this. Because I didn't. I mean, this shit is always at least mildly triggering for me, but when it comes to Trump and other powerful white men, I can't tell you how depressing it is to get angry about them raping women and girls, demanding justice, shouting down the inevitable flood of rape apologists, and then watching it fade from public consciousness as absolutely nothing is done by lawmakers or authorities and those men get to keep on being president because we let a guy who has spent his whole life going around saying "screw the rules I have money" become president.
Yes, that is a Yu-Gi-Oh the Abridged Series reference. I do what I need to do to get by.
But in spite of all the mental resistance, I really do want to report on this. I had to read E. Jean Carroll's graphic account of what was absolutely a case of rape by any legal definition, and if you are able to do so, you should, too. Donald Trump has also been accused of rape or sexual assault by 15 other women/girls and of anything under the term "sexual misconduct" by at least 22 women/girls. Don't forget that Trump is not only a rapist, but a child rapist.
I'm glad that Jeffrey Epstein was FINALLY arrested for being a child rapist and collector of child porn, but it took far too long. As long as Trump is president, he's apparently immune from any consequences, but maybe someday if he ever allows himself to leave office, he'll be arrested for being a child rapist, too. But it's absolutely devastating to every survivor in the world to watch these arrests get delayed for years and years and years while the men are free to live their lives, make way too much money, enjoy the world's greatest decadence, and in some cases, run the free world (lol free) and also don't forget continue to assault women and girls because sexual predators don't stop.
So if you ever think about asking a woman "what's wrong" you can just go ahead and assume it's that. The President of the United States, Donald Trump, is a rapist. And people send me asinine emails yelling at me for hating this country.
