Republican Accidentally Admits the Electoral College is a White Supremacist Construct

This is also a contender for headline of the month:

LePage: Eliminating Electoral College Would Make Whites ‘A Forgotten People’

Former governor of Maine Paul LePage, everybody. Remember this guy? The guy who dropped this racist shit about "drug dealers"?

(Drug dealers) are guys with the name D-Money, Smoothie, Shifty; these types of guys, they come from Connecticut and New York, they come up here, they sell their heroin, they go back home. Incidentally, half the time they impregnate a young, white girl before they leave, which is a real sad thing because then we have another issue we have to deal with down the road.

And then remember when a Democrat called him racist and LePage left him a voicemail calling him a socialist cocksucker? Classic.

Anyway, here he is again, being a racist dumpster fire.

According to a Thursday Maine Beacon report, LePage told local radio station WVOM that the legislation would render him and other whites “a forgotten people.”
“Actually what would happen if they do what they say they’re gonna do is white people will not have anything to say,” LePage said. “It’s only going to be the minorities that would elect. It would be California, Texas, Florida.”

This is simply amazing. It lays out exactly how much of a white supremacist tactic the electoral college is. If getting rid of it means that white people don't have anything to say, then what do we have with it? Could that mean, LePage, that since the creation of the electoral college hundreds of years ago, people of color had no voice?

Whoops.

In reality, without the electoral college, white people will no longer have all the voice, and will have a regular amount of voice in terms of voting (or would if it weren't for voter suppression tactics but you know) because uhhhh one person one vote?

The rhetoric defending the electoral college is so much smoke and mirrors. Like, if you have to do that kind of mental gymnastics to defend something and the rest of us are over here like "um, one person one vote" then maybe your side is shit? And also, if you're afraid of losing the electoral college because it gives white people more of a normal, fair amount of voice rather than an unfair amount, you might be racist!

Just kidding, you're definitely racist.
