Mark Judge Was a Fucking Gamergater, End Me

By far the worst thing about existence right now is the fact that the fucking asshole misogynistic nerds that I used to argue with for hours as they tried to convince me that feminism was ruining video games and, by extension, the world, are now or always have been in positions of power or are close to people in positions of power.

Mark Judge? The dude who was an accessory to Kavanagh's attempted rape? He was a fucking Gamergate drone. Maybe still is, for all I know.

A couple of days ago, a Twitterer called @LasagnaGarden noticed that back in July 2015 Kavanaugh’s pal (and alleged attempted-rape assistant) Mark Judge had written an article for a little-known, now-defunct culture blog called Acculturated attacking Anita Sarkeesian and praising her Gamergate critics.

Look at this, look at this shit he wrote:

"gamers’ cogent counterarguments have made Anita Sarkeesian and Feminist Frequency irrelevant. Gamers keep gaming, and game makers keep making games. The controversy is ebbing, and soon the name Anita Sarkeesian will be a footnote in pop culture history."

At least we can all take pleasure in the fact that A) Anita Sarkeesian was never trying to stop gamers from gaming or game makers from making games because she is in fact a gamer and was just being a cultural critic and B) Feminist Frequency is still going strong and Sarkeesian is not only very relevant in her field, but was made so much more relevant by the constant Gamergate harassment she has endured and continues to endure to this day.

Mark Judge, you fucking moldy lampshade.

But still, it's little comfort, and I still long for death.

If Judge’s first Gamergate post was a bog-standard Gamergatey “rebuttal” to a drastically and misleadingly simplified caricature of Sarkeesian’s arguments — pretty much the dictionary definition of a straw man — his second post on Sarkeesian was far worse, a creepy defense of male gamers’ sexual fetishization of pixelated hotties that looks even creepier in the wake of the Kavanaugh revelations.

I don't even want to read it. So I won't. I'm pretty sure I can guess like 95% of what he said, anyway. The arguments were always the same and are still the same.

This revelation alongside the images of Kavanagh literally screaming and crying over an interview that went awry for a position that could allow him to change the political landscape of the entire country for many decades when he should have to defend himself in court for the CRIME he committed (multiple crimes actually) is causing my soul to attempt to escape my body and leave this intensely absurd plan of existence.

The same kind of dude who was screaming and crying and dedicating huge portions of their lives to harassing women over fucking video games are now throwing a tantrum over being held accountable for multiple acts of sexual assault rather than just being handed a position on the Supreme Court of the United States of America. I guess I should have seen this coming, but my brain can only process so much absurdity.
