Police Evict Protesters, I Languish in Tacoma

I went to the protest at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma today to find it being packed up because the police have evicted the occupiers. I got to help clean up though!

Now I'm hanging out in a parking garage in Tacoma eating a late lunch and looking up Starbucks locations to hang out. There's still going to be a noise demo at the detention center tonight at 9. I'm disappointed that the Occupy Movement at the Detention Center was a bust but mostly I'm angry at the Tacoma Police Department for being a bunch of fucking jackboot shitheads.

They were evicted because something something citizens' right of way? As though the occupiers were blocking traffic in the middle of nowhere where no one ever goes except to protest the Detention Center. It's bullshit.

I was really hoping we could get a huge movement outside of the Detention Center going and actually get some momentum in the effort to close down all immigrant detention centers. But I doubt that will happen now. People didn't care about these imprisoned immigrants before and they won't going forward.

Anyway, I need to find a bathroom and maybe a coffee because this country makes me so, so tired.
