Last night I read this great intro to anarcho-communism. It's a pamphlet by the Anarchist Federation, and I personally approve it from a feminist and general social justice standpoint.
Intro to Anarchist Communism
It's 44 pages, but if you're fairly interested in the subject, this is a great place to start. If you're only somewhat interested, you can try the AF's short intro on anarcho-communism.
I'm trying to work through some essential reading lists, but I'm getting closer to calling myself an anarcho-communist. It makes a lot of sense to me. And it appears to be catching on with a lot of other people my age, which makes me hopeful that something could change.
According to the pamphlet, it's impossible to predict when real revolution will be sparked. In the past, it's started from small uprisings that grew into something huge. What we need to try and avoid is getting co-opted by capitalists and statists (Democrats mostly) and keep our movements by the people and for the people.
