Trumpcare 2.0

Remember when Lord Dampnut and his minion Paul Ryan were like "we couldn't pass our health care bill so we're gonna stop trying, Obamacare is the law of the land"? They were lying, of course.

The GOP sounds confident the House is going to pass 'Trumpcare' this week

No, that's not old, that's from yesterday.

On CBS' "Face the Nation," President Donald Trump said he believed the House could have voted on the bill on Friday, but he told House leaders to wait.
"I think they could have voted on Friday," Trump said. "I said, 'Just relax. Don't worry about this phony 100-day thing. Just relax. Take it easy. Take your time. Get the good vote and make it perfect.'"
Vice President Mike Pence, when asked about Trump's accomplishments during his first 100 days on "Meet the Press," predicted that while the healthcare overhaul didn't happen before the milestone, it would soon.

I don't know if they were keeping it quiet while we still thought we'd won the Trumpcare battle so that we wouldn't be able to fight back until too late or if they were just successful in overwhelming us with shit and this slipped through the cracks until now. Maybe a little of both. But we need to get our shit together and freak out about this immediately. Especially since this bill is worse than the original. They shifted it to the right.

Since the failure in late March, the bill has undergone changes to make it more palatable for conservatives like the House Freedom Caucus, which officially supports the new version. But recent amendments have raised concerns among moderates, and some withdrew their support of the bill.

Shit.

What this means is that the bill would remove the prohibition against refusing to sell health insurance to people with "pre-existing conditions." This is a complete fucking disaster. Many people were saved from impossible situations and possible death due to this part of Obamacare, and many people could be condemned to early death if it's removed. Republicans are lying when they say that the new bill does not repeal these protections. It does.
