The Concentration Camps Are Already Here

You know how we're supposed to be on the lookout for signs of Nazi Germany-style shit like the rounding up of "undesirables" to be put into concentration camps? We actually have already had that going on for a while. And it got worse under Obama. And now it's ramping up even more thanks to Lord Dampnut's executive orders.

Undocumented Immigrants Arrested Nationwide, Stoking Fears Of Trump’s ‘Deportation Force’

Immigrant rights advocates reported an uptick in Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrests ― including the detention of people who were considered low priority for removal until Trump signed an order last month making nearly every undocumented immigrant an important target for deportation.
ICE officials initially said that this week’s actions were “routine” and nothing outside the ordinary. But in a conference call with reporters Friday evening, an ICE official appeared to contradict that statement, saying that the agencies targeted several cities in an “enforcement surge.”

Of course. Lying has become routine with this administration. It's when they start getting honest that we really need to be scared. Well, no, we need to be scared right now, but when they start telling the truth it means they think that there's no need to lie anymore because their power is so entrenched that it doesn't matter. Anyway.

Katie Klabusich was tweeting about this last Friday, posting photos and alerts about ICE agents in Austin, Texas at taco stands and elementary school bus stops where they were reportedly arresting people on the spot.

Make the Road New York reported that undocumented immigrants are being detained regardless of criminal record, and in some cases just for being in a community that contains a lot of undocumented immigrants, with some being immediately deported.

The random arrests, raids, rounding people up and detaining them WITH THEIR CHILDREN, no warrants, no probable cause - not that any of that would make a person deserving of being deported - to be packed into "detention centers" where conditions are terrible, kids are suicidal, where they can be held indefinitely until they're forced out of the country and back to the places they fled, or in some cases, places they've never been. Sometimes deportation is a death sentence, but it doesn't matter to the U.S. government. It didn't under Obama and it certainly doesn't now.

I'm hoping the many stark parallels between the Dampnut administration and Nazi Germany and other fascist regimes will finally scare people into real action of behalf of the undocumented immigrants who have been facing racist persecution for so many years. If you want to think of these as gestapo raids, if imagining the sound of jackboots gets you moving, then good. Do that. We should have stopped this long ago but at least we can stop it now, while the left has momentum and even people who consider themselves conservative are like "wtf."

Immigrants and Muslims are the first people that this administration has come for. If you don't want to end up like the dude in the poem who has no one left to speak for him, you need to act now. Not this time, asshole.
