Alt-Right Watch: Nazis Admit "Jokes" Normalize Bigotry

[TRIGGER WARNING: RANK ANTI-SEMITISM]

You may have heard that YouTube personality and professional piece of shit PewDiePie has been scorned by both Disney and YouTube, with Disney severing ties entirely and YouTube cancelled the second season of his show available on the paid YouTube Red program, plus took away his "Google preferred" advertising status - basically relegating him to the status of just another dude with a YouTube channel.

This reportedly went down because the asshole paid some guys to hold up a sign that said "Death to all Jews" and another guy to dress as Jesus and say that "Hitler did nothing wrong."

Horrible, yes, but not actually out of the norm for PewDiePie, who has been saying things like this on his YouTube shows for years. Neither YouTube nor Disney said why they suddenly care about anti-semitism now when they've both ignored (or worse) this problem in the past, but my guess is that it has something to do with the current political climate in the U.S.

Predictably, PewDiePie's millions (yes millions) of fans are very upset about this and using the classic "it's just a joke" mantra to excuse his behavior. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to explain how words have consequences and bigoted jokes aren't harmless, but why listen to me when the head of the online neo-Nazi base the Daily Stormer has explained it himself:

PewDiePie’s comments have made him popular with neo-Nazi website The Daily Stormer, which has run a series of articles about the YouTuber, describing him as “our guy”.
“He could be doing all this only to cause a stir things up and get free publicity,” wrote the Daily Stormer.
“Ultimately, it doesn’t matter, since the effect is the same; it normalizes Nazism, and marginalizes our enemies.”
The site has even added a banner describing itself as “the world’s #1 PewDiePie fansite”.

And there you have it, straight from the Nazi's mouth. "Trolls" like PewDiePie normalize the horrible shit they "joke" about and work to marginalize the people they shit on, and no amount of "just kidding" stops that. Why do you think the same people who engage in this kind of "troll" activity almost inevitably end up becoming white nationalists/neo-Nazis? Why do you think Nazis have been encouraging this behavior all along? Why do you think the popularity of so-called "troll culture" has been so swiftly followed up by a drastic increase in white supremacist and neo-Nazi numbers?

You can deny it until you're blue in the face, but that's just gonna make me assume that you're already a Nazi.
