If you haven't noticed yet, I am a cat person. And a dog person. And a bird person. I like animals.
But as of now, I only have a cat. I adopted her from a woman who had recently had a baby and already had a dog (who was terrorizing the poor kitten) and couldn't properly care for all three. Due to the dog and what I suspect was too early separation from her mother and/or improper human socialization, my kitty is very anxious. But having an anxiety disorder myself, I could understand. It took two weeks for her to really trust me and come out from under the bed other than to eat or use the litter box, but now she and I are very attached and she is the sweetest, most affectionate, attention-neediest cat ever. With me, she's scared of everyone else.
She also looooooves the super soft Costco blanket I put over our nasty old futon.
And, as you can clearly see, she has the prettiest eyes in all the land. She can also have the saddest eyes in all the land if I haven't given her enough pets.
Also for International Cat Day, here is an article about the mental health benefits of cats:
Cats Are The Unsung Heroes Of Mental Health
Also it includes more kitty pictures. Kitties!
