Addendum to Trolls, Trauma, and Disempowerment

I had some really great, really honest responses from a gentleman calling himself "London."

The first step is admitting it, London. Thank you for creating a new Disqus account just to pour your heart out like that.

On a totally unrelated note, a great way to combat feelings of disempowerment is to make a blog with a Disqus commenting section. Disqus allows you to have complete control of the comments on your blog, including editing the content of the comment. That way, you can actually turn what would be a trauma reenactment into a situation in which you have complete power to make the result literally whatever you want, and trolls can't do anything about it!
