[TRIGGER WARNING: CHILD DEATH, GUN VIOLENCE, POLICE BRUTALITY]
You know, Tamir Rice, the kid who was sitting on a bench at a playground fiddling with a toy gun when a white cop pulled up, screamed something at him, and then shot him .00000002 seconds later, didn't provide emergency medical care, and was surprised when people were upset that the child died.
Yeah, that whole incident was ruled to be justified. So any black kid playing with a toy gun or probably anything that looks like a gun at all can be justifiably shot with barely any warning. But #AllLivesMatter, right?
Rice family attorney Subodh Chandra questioned the reports’ release at 8 PM on a holiday weekend, and suggested the prosecutor’s office was intentionally avoiding the accountability that Rice’s family demands.
“It is now obvious that the prosecutor’s office has been on a 12-month quest to avoid providing that accountability,” Chandra told the Associated Press.
