Black History Month

Today's blog of the day is Black Girl Dangerous. Created by the amazing and award-winning writer Mia McKenzie, it focuses on issues experienced by LGBTQAIP+ people of color.

The site's latest piece is really great. It talks about the people behind the scenes in various movements and addresses emotional labor, which is something that I think needs way more recognition.

Most of the people who work in the background of any movement doing the emotional work are women. You may have noticed that the people up front tend to have a lot of privilege. This is a big part of the reason why dismissing online activism is such a problem. The Black Girl Dangerous article explains it really well. Go read it.
