"Ten Things White People Can Do About Ferguson Besides Tweet"
This is required reading if you're white and speaking out about Ferguson. I myself am guilty of #3. My first post about Ferguson was full of "what country do we live in?" I'm sorry for this. It was a product of my ignorance due to both white privilege - growing up in middle class, predominantly white neighborhoods and never experiencing police brutality or harassment - as well as a failure to adequately educate myself before speaking. I have not read up enough on the history of anti-black racism in the US. I will try to rectify this and refrain from making the same mistake in the future.
The list given is a lot of really important but also simple and easy steps that we white people can take. It's not even long. Please read it.
