Not Sorry Feminism Featured By Reddit Assholes!

So I logged on to Blogger this morning, and I noticed something very different about my pageview stats. Today's views were off the charts! Then I saw that I Love My Anger had over 1,300 views! How awesome!

Then I saw that most of the views were coming from Reddit, and I thought to myself, this should be good.

And it was! A section of Reddit called Tumblr In Action, which appears to be a collection of white dudes getting mad about things people post on Tumblr, got mad enough that I'm not buying into the socially enforced rule that women (and other oppressed people) aren't allowed to be mad about their oppression that they featured the post! Check out all the super mad comments and the white dudes quoting Sun Tzu. Hilarious!

I'll admit, there's actually a fourth type of anger that I missed. I've had this anger before and sometimes still experience a hint of it despite my best efforts. It's the anger of those in power when their power is challenged. This is the worst type of anger and leads to the most bitterness, particularly when those who are desperately clinging to that power see it slowly slipping away and know they can't do anything about it.

Must be rough. Allow me to offer my condolences to the dudebros of Tumblr In Action.

Thanks for all the traffic, assholes!

Hello Gabriel! I'm sure you were unaware, but the term "butthurt" is problematic as it originated as a way to mock male (usually gay) rape victims. I know it's a fun term, but please don't use it on my blog. Thanks!

Also, if you're white, then you have white privilege regardless of what you say. Thanks for stopping by!

Let's see here

>Being racially normative assuming everyone on TiA is white
>Being gender normative assuming everyone on TiA is male
>Being transphobic assuming everyone on TiA is cisgendered male

I trust you realize how sexist, racist, and transphobic you are by calling the users on that subreddit "white males" and "dudebros." You are doing nothing useful for feminism.

Nuge said...

We're not mad. We're laughing. Please don't project.

Nuge said...

Because only white people have power and blacks will always be powerless. Nice unintentional racism.

Lindsey Weedston said...

You'll never overcome your insecurity-based anger if you don't admit to it.

Lindsey Weedston said...

Telling that you said "white people" and then "blacks." Apparently only one is people to you.

Before this conversation can continue, you will need to educate yourself on what white privilege is. Please don't return to it until you do so.

Nuge said...

Hypocrisy is the key to fleibility isn't it? Where do you see anger? The people on TiA are either confused about how some people could be so willfully hypocritical or are laughing at the irony.

Lindsey Weedston said...

Suuuuuure you are. Keep telling yourself that.

Lindsey Weedston said...

Sounds more like you majored in getting banned for being a racist! Bye!

zureth said...

Oh sweet summer child. they laugh at the ridiculousness of it all and how butthurt you all get over things. There is no anger, only laughter.

Jesus said...

Don't be so butthurt.

And lol with all this shit talk from you.
sad butthurt little girl.

[Trigger Warning: Rape, homophobia]

Any future comments using the term "butthurt" on this post's comments section will be deleted as I have explained to Gabriel already why it's unacceptable.

Gabriel said...

I am flabbergasted. Like, really. It could ALSO mean a kick in the pants. You people turn everything into oppression.

Lindsey Weedston said...

It could ALSO potentially mean just about anything, but it originated as a way to mock male rape victims. I get told constantly not to forget about the men who get raped and this is what I get.

Your flabbergastation is none of my concern. My priority is with those who could be triggered by such things. Follow the rules or don't comment.

Gabriel said...

Can I please have your source as to where it originated?

Lindsey Weedston said...

It originated on 4chan, I'm not about to dig through that mess to find it for you, let alone link it. The use of the word on this blog is not up for debate.

Choux said...

Wtf is going on, are they for real? Why do they think that you care about their made up problems. You know what, I just got angry and I should have been a long time ago! I can't imagine why I'd care what those assholes think about it.

Charles Parker said...

Who cares what it originated from? The word faggot originated from talking about bundles of sticks and fire wood. Guess that means its not offensive to gays after all then since that's where it originated from.

Not like he said "You're obviously not butthurt like all those rape victims."

EBE1 said...

You are wrong, this is just a big joke to most of us.
Maybe if you stop projecting your insecurities on people you could lead a productive and happy life. I doubt you have enough vision to accomplish this though. Your eternal victim complex is showing.

EBE1 said...

The irony is beyond funny, and a source of entertainment for us all. Trigger warnings for the word 'butthurt'? hahaha

EBE1 said...

You need to check your female privilege.

EBE1 said...

Censoring people is not the answer and will only lead to people using other terms like 'ass rape'.

EBE1 said...

The term 'negro' is more socially acceptable.

Even if it was about sex (which I can't find the link for anywhere at all, so I have no idea where you saw it) words change a lot. The meaning everyone uses it for is what I was using it for, no one ever used it the way you described, at least nothing I have found (after long amounts of research) have actually found the original source. Did you see the original source? If not, how do you know it's not some rumour about SJW'S trying to make themselves feel better by criticizing other people. Also, why does it hve to be rape,, especially gay rape? Everyone has butts. And anal sex can still hurt, even if it is perfectly consensual. What I was trying to say, before you brought up THAT was that you are really getting angry over nothing. It doesn't mean we're angry because we put you on reddit. We were saying, in complete honesty, that anger is not something that people should be proud of, and does not contribute to society at all. If you have reasonable points, your arguments will turn out A LOT stronger. You seem to be focusing on thing that break your sense of moral. I'm not even necessarily against feminism, just against white knights who think that they are so morally strong that they make a Mac look like a PC.

Gabriel said...

Which I would not use, because I don't even think you should joke about in most contexts. I'm honestly offended that she implied that I was a homophobe.

Lindsey Weedston said...

Hello you have been banned.

Gabriel said...

What problems? We never said we had problems.

Lindsey Weedston said...

You're right, and a lot of people, especially rape victims, especially rape victims who are gay men, have said that they associate it with their trauma, and therefore it triggers them, and therefore it will not be used here and you should not use it anywhere because doing so makes you a callous asshole. Origins be damned. Can you really not see how the association could be made?

I am proud of my anger. If you can't understand why after reading the post, then you are too invested in your privilege to ever be convinced. And my oppression is not "nothing." And as it turns out, my points can be reasonable with anger behind them. I don't give a fuck if they seem less reasonable to you, because if you have such a problem with the anger of the oppressed, then those points are not for you.

Lindsey Weedston said...

I just rolled my eyes so hard I could see the top of my brain.

Do you TiA people really not get that this post was made to mock you? I'm laughing right back at you. I couldn't give the slightest of fucks what you nerds think of me.

Lindsey Weedston said...

Don't be so oversensitive. Just because I said you used homophobic language doesn't mean I called you a homophobe. People make mistakes.

Lindsey Weedston said...

Now they got wind of this post and there's been an influx of trolls. It's how I know this blog is going places :D!

Gabriel said...

*I never said your anger was "nothing" I said you're getting angry over tiny things Gee.. I dunno.. like a reddit post, perhaps? I tried reasoning with you rationally and respectfully there, but you obviously won't listen to anyone who disagrees with you. Anger is a motivation, not a solution, and is by no means. I never said that you cannot be angry and make reasonable points, I said that you cannot let anger be your argument. "Origins be damned." What, so a word that never meant to be homophobic, is never to my knowledge used in a homophobic way, can now be homophobic? What if I started my own group, and claimed the word "Peanuts" was offensive to us. Let's say lots of people join my group, for one reason or another. Does that mean we should all stop saying peanuts? No. Words like "Faggot" are different because they have actual ESTABLISHED meanings that EVERYONE knows about. Just because an association can be made does not mean that association is correct. Associations can be made with about every slang word ever.

Gabriel said...

The same observation can be made about you. I think that you are being hypersensitive about being posted on reddit. Maybe I was being oversensitive when I said that, but I despise being called things that I know I am not.

Lana said...

Yeah I'm a transgirl and I frequent r/tumblrinaction. Some of the stuff there goes over the line, but most if not all is quite funny.

I'm not even joking when I say that calling us all dudebros is a litttllleee bit of a generalization. Many of us simply have contrasting views of what feminism and transactivism should be.

Lindsey Weedston said...

You literally said I was getting mad over "nothing." I'm not mad about the reddit post. I'm excited and amused. Where do you see mad in this post? You tried reasoning with me where? All you did was come in here to mock me and then I told you not to use one word and you got all upset about it.

It's obviously homophobic because it implies anal rape, which is to the general population, especially to 4chan assholes, associated with gay men. The dots are easy to connect, whereas your peanuts example comes from literally nothing and has never happened. Just because you didn't know the association doesn't mean it wasn't there. You might have known it if you were at all involved in the LBGTQAIP+ community. It helps to get out of the bigot side of reddit now and then.

And because you have failed to censor an obvious slur, I'm going to have to ban you. Seriously, you people need to respect my rules or shut up.

Lindsey Weedston said...

All I ever see from them is harassment of people of color, women, trans people and non-binary people. So I'm not sorry for generalizing. You associate with a lot of assholes.

Lindsey Weedston said...

Well, it's time to go to bed, and I don't want this to become a big wank fest for Tumblr In Action people, so comments will be closed. Good night!

Lindsey Weedston said...

I didn't call you anything. And seriously, I'm glad I was featured on your shitty reddit page. This was all very entertaining.
