Feminist Music

The next song I want to feature in this series is Fefe Dobson, who is also from Canada! She's an amazing woman of color whose mother is "of English, Aboriginal, and French ancestry and her father is of Jamaican heritage."

Fefe is a songwriter and recording artists who does a lot of pop/rock with a distinctly punk voice, especially in "If I Was a Guy." This song, from the unreleased album "Sunday Love," mocks the male ego and sense of entitlement and talks about how dudebros objectify women. It's pretty straightforward with the "fuck you gross assholes" and that's why I love it.

Right now she's working on a new album, her fourth, called Firebird.
