Beautiful and incredibly brave Sikh woman Harnaam Kaur has polycystic ovarian syndrome, which can cause a lot of facial hair grown. Despite the fact that most people think this is "weird" or whatevs, she embraced her religion - which forbids the cutting or removal of body hair of any kind - and now loved her luxurious beard.
As a kid, she faced vicious bullying, death threats, and suicidal urges because of her facial hair. She now endures misgendering and rude stares and family pressure, but she continues to wear makeup and whatever clothes she wants, because she loves it.
Kaur slipped once and shaved off her beard at the age of 17 after pressure from her extended family, but revealed: “All I could do was cry because I didn’t feel like myself without my beard.
She is my hero. She should be everyone's hero. Fuck gender norms forever!
